Since 1989, Spantech has successfully delivered Educational facilities to State, Catholic and Independent Schools. Universities and Child Care Centres also use Spantech education buildings.
The company designs and constructs buildings using our patented Spantech Construction System. The system is versatile and well proven. The Spantech Construction System features straight and curved roofing panels used to provide frameless, wide-span buildings. The curved panels can span up to 40 metres without the need for any trusses or internal columns. Panels are manufactured on site with a mobile rollforming machine. The efficient construction method ensures Spantech buildings are very fast to construct, strong and low maintenance.

Management Systems Tailored to Suit Education Projects
The management systems used to design and construct our Education projects are tailored to suit the specific challenges of working in operating schools. Our systems are safe and low impact. Our teams work closely with our education clients to coordinate major activities to minimise disruption to the school community at all times.
Spantech works with the school’s preferred Architect to help achieve the best results from our technology. Spantech supplies and erects the roofing system and any additional construction services required by the Architect. Where required, contractors tender on the remaining scope of works. Alternatively, Spantech can work directly with the school as Principal Contractor to provide a complete Design and Construction package that suits the budget and timeframe of the school. As Spantech is effectively working as a single select contractor, our price may be reviewed by a Quantity Surveyor to ensure the school receives a competitive price. Either way we aim to be flexible to ensure the design and construction process is simple and delivers excellent value for money for our Clients.
Spantech can provide the information required to assist schools to prepare grant applications, including detailed project scope, budget and preliminary project drawings. Some conditions apply. Using our independently certified quality, safety and environmental system, Spantech can ensure a comprehensive and professional service from concept to handover and beyond.

Covered Outdoor Learning Areas
Spantech’s open sided covered outdoor learning areas (COLAs) are low maintenance, long life and provide good protection from sun, heat and rain.
With up to a 25 year warranty and an expected life of more than 50 years, Spantech COLAs are far more economical than shade sails over the longer term. The truss-free design ensures there is no place for birds to roost or balls to become lodged.
Multipurpose Court Shade Structure
Spantech Shade Structures can span up to 40 metres wide. They can accommodate full sized netball courts with competition sized run off areas.
The structures are ideal for all types of court based sports including basketball, netball, tennis, volleyball, badminton and futsal. Spantech Shade Structures can be designed to be enclosed in the future to create a multipurpose hall or indoor sports centre.
Multipurpose Halls
Multipurpose halls, assembly halls, theatres and gymnasiums are designed to accommodate a wide range of school activities. High ceilings and excellent ventilation make the buildings ideal for indoor sports and large gatherings.
In high risk areas the buildings can be upgraded to meet Australian Standards for community cyclone shelters or community fire refuges making the facility an asset for the whole community.
Child Care Centres Design And Construction
Spantech has constructed a number of very successful child care centres. Designs focus on creating safe, stimulating and comforting environments for children.
Of equal importance, is the Centre’s functionality, manageability, regulatory compliance and profitability. Distinctive design features of a Spantech Child Care Centre include a central multipurpose covered space for all-weather play and expansive classrooms with good natural ventilation and ample natural light.
Aquatic Centres Design And Construction
Spantech can cover any size new or existing swimming pool including 50 metre eight lane Olympic standard pools. Spantech swimming pool enclosures make swimming lessons and training possible year round.
Designs include excellent natural light, controllable ventilation and low maintenance finishes. Spantech swimming pool enclosures reduce evaporation and the ongoing costs of chemicals, heating and maintenance while maximising potential income for the facility.
Spantech has also provided the roofing system for a number of complete “green field” schools. All education buildings can use Spantech roofing, not just the large sport facilities.
Class rooms, administration blocks, amenities and covered walkways. Repeating the roofing design across many buildings provides design cohesion and creates architectural possibilities.
