Tapered Profiles

Beenleigh Aquatic Centre uses the Spantech Longreach 650 as a tapered profile to achieve a trapezoidal shaped roof line

Beenleigh Aquatic Centre uses tapered Spantech Longreach 650 profiles to achieve a trapezoidal shaped roof plan.

Tapered roofing profiles are those where the cover width of each profile is varied (gradually increased or reduced) to achieve irregular shaped roofs for exciting architectural effect.

Both the Spantech Longreach 800 and Longreach 650 profiles can be tapered.  The cover widths can be varied by approximately 100mm. Refer to the Longreach 800 or Longreach 650 profile pages for further details.

Roof Shapes

Trapezoidal buildings and fan shaped roof lines are easily achieved.

Manually cutting profiles achieves a wider variety of irregular shaped roof lines.

Structural Support for Tapered Profiles

Profiles can be supported on straight beams to achieve irregular shaped roof plans.

Straight beams set at different or opposing angles can be spanned with tapering profiles for a twisted effect.

Alternatively, profiles with varying cover widths can be supported on curved or undulating beams for striking architectural effect.

Some tapered profiles may require Tek screws along the rib to ensure a secure and watertight connection.
