THE LACEY SPORTS CENTRE, MUELLER COLLEGE
Spantech was nominated to design and construct a large shade structure at Mueller College, 75 Morris Rd, Rothwell QLD 4022.
The structure features three free-spanning curved roofs set at two different heights. The higher section is over the three multipurpose courts and the two lower roofs cover the southern entry foyer and the northern gym, rock climbing hall and store room.
The building is constructed with the Spantech 370 Series curved panel.
The project includes:
- a large entry foyer leading to
- three multipurpose sports courts
- an indoor gym
- a rock-climbing room, and
- a large sports equipment store room.
Opened on the 14 July 2017, the building was officially named the Lacey Sports Centre in honour of John and Jenny Lacey who have served at Mueller for 24 and 22 years respectively.
The design includes provision for an insulated ceiling and the entire structure can be fully enclosed in the future if required.
THE ROOF // Students were in the new sports roof today for the first time. A great addition to College facilities and excited for the future.
