RAAF Base NT includes ten Spantech Explosives Storehouses (ESH). Eight 13 metre ESH were built in 1991 with an additional two 23 metre ESH built five years later in 1996.
A number of the 13m ESH include an internal dividing wall providing storage compartments to segregate contents.
In 2010 Spantech returned to perform a wide range of minor repairs and some major upgrades.
Each upgrade was designed to maximise the life of the structures and eliminate or minimise the cost of future maintenance.
